When we were approached by an investor with a passion for CBD who wanted to pioneer the market for CBD home and health goods - CBD was still a foriegn word to most Americans.
The challenge was not only educating the consumer on what CBD was and how Hemp was different from Cannabis, but also how to communicate it's potential position in the health and wellness verticals (from home goods to food and beverage) for many retailers. Hence: we picked the name Natural Hemp Company to be direct and clearly communicate this new adaptogenic substance that would soon take over the market.
After defining the brand name and its mission, we then began designing the logo and visual brand language. We created a custom laurel wreath made up of delicate hemp leaves that acts as a brand mark as well as a decorative element in the packaging and advertising.
The brand tested positively and was received well by big box retailers such as Target, Walmart, CVS and 7-Eleven, who requested that we also develop a seperate line of edibles with a new design language to make it distinct from the home-goods products.
